Crappie lures
Getting to know the basic crappie lures
Most anglers, experienced in the business in crappie fishing or not would like to trade an object of possession
they have just to acquire effective crappie lures. However, the use of crappie lures may vary from one point to
another. This is brought by the fact that the lures may work today but may not work as equal tomorrow.
The main root cause of this is that the crappies tend to do a lot of movements in search for new foods or in short
a variety of choices. Make a good start by learning what the crappies are looking for in a particular spot. Assess
very well and get to know about the bait which is often the most interesting for the swimmers. Do not assume though
that minnows are the most desired in that area. Since crappies eat many types of live feeds or other objects they
may encounter in the water like minnows, snakes, tadpoles, frogs and bugs the selection for the best crappie lures
can be very challenging.
The types of lures that you can use are available in a wide variety. Whenever materials used in fishing lure are
talked about, there are actually three classes. These are the plastics, the cloth or a feather and the live. There
are also kinds which these basic forms are combined.
These lures are actually used for different situations since they tend to move uniquely from each other.
First and foremost among the three are the plastics. These plastics are actually designed to mimic the natural
colors, sizes and shapes of natural crappie foods. Aside from the attraction to the external structure of the bait,
they are also produced to imitate the movement of the bait but the action totally depends on the user's skill. More
often, the lures made out of these materials move stiffly and may not look well enough. These kinds also catch and
reflect so much light which may be great to your advantage.
The next ones are the feather or cloth types. In their dry modes, these kinds may not be as efficient in attracting
crappies but they are more effective if they are wet. With the wet type of feather lures, the movement makes it
more fluid and smooth when manipulated by the user.
This advantage takes more attention to the crappies the way bait fishes do. However, you must be able to take a
good look whenever they areon water since they can be hard to spot once they are cast. The third type would be the
live one and a great example would be the flies. They are used for minimizing the water movement in order not to
disturb the quiet environment of a fishing spot for a higher probability of catching. Just like any other forms of
crappie lures, they are also available in different colors for blending on varying weather and water
conditions.
Crappie lures when used appropriately and properly will surely give you a school of crappies that will keep you
amazed for hours.
